It's zero degrees Fahrenheit out there this morning so I thought I'd share the literal dumpster fire that happened in my front yard a couple weeks ago that was in no way a harbinger of anything.

Whiskers are different lengths. Not the same picture. The expression was used more than once. Maybe all instances are drinking, but maybe not.
I just learned the Bugs Bunny No meme doesn't even come from him saying no. It's a frame rotated 90 degrees from him taking a drink from a bottle. I needed to share this.

Read Qasim's article. Go. Now.
The first time terrorists used planes to attack Americans wasn’t on 9/11 or at Pearl Harbor. It was the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 when white supremacists flew a dozen planes to drop turpentine or nitroglycerin bombs on Black Americans.

Viola Fletcher was there.

Mother Fletcher's legacy will live on as the epitome of honor, courage, strength, and resilience in the face of violent terrorism, white supremacy, and cowardice

Keep calling.
Spoke to my source familiar with internal workings at Mastercard. The holiday call campaign re payment processor censorship is working, there is a lot of pressure being felt from your calls. This is resulting in increased response times at a core moment for Mastercard due to the holiday season

And with our newly ungerrymandered map, we are going to clean h̶o̶u̶s̶e̶* senate.

(*and also house. And our national reps, too!)
8 days.

That’s all the time Wisconsin’s historically lazy State Senate bothered to show up this year—all while ignoring major issues facing our state, including rising costs.

We deserve better than WI Republicans blocking progress and pushing an unpopular anti-abortion agenda.

Framing this as "hoarding" is a lie and a targeted attack by the wealth-extracting grifters in charge. "Hoarding" would be buying more phones than you need, maybe to the point of there not being enough for everyone else. This is the opposite of hoarding. Using things longer is good, you ghouls.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

Less than 24 hours after @acvalens.net broke this story, it was removed from the site following direct intervention from VICE’s owners, who were reportedly uncomfortable with the subject matter.

Censoring a story on censorship is about as 2025 as it gets.
The censorship of 80+ games on Steam this week was apparently the work of Australian antiporn group Collective Shout, which partnered with US evangelicals to pressure Visa and Mastercard.

They claimed, without evidence, that the games involved child abuse.

Great work by @acvalens.net for VICE.

The organization behind Steam's latest payment processor censorship, Collective Shout, appears to tell some misleading tales.

It's much simpler than that. The Boy Scouts aren't maximally cruel to trans kids and so Republicans believe it should be destroyed.

This is the best Pete Hegseth metaphor I've ever seen.
The thing about playing ghost of yotei is theres actually a character in it who spends his whole day getting smashed on sake and plotting increasingly dumb ways to impress his daddy none of which ever work and does that sounds familiar

There's this idea that the issues that motivate older generations are universal and the issues that motivate younger generations are niche, and until you realize how wrongheaded that is, you'll never build a multigenerational coalition.

How do men listen to three hours of this?

"Huh huh it's so cool!"
"It's crazy"
"And then you do it again"
"Omg"
"You tried it?"
"Omg yeah it's crazy"
"And like it keeps getting better!"
"I KNOW so crazy"
"So cool"

Literally any conversation between Beavis and Butthead has more substance and humor.

The category "ultraprocessed" reeks of thevworst kind of woo, dressed up in scientific garb. Anything that's not "natural" or "traditional" must be bad (even if demonstrably harmless or good), while everything "traditional" gets grandfathered in - no matter how awful it is for you.

It's time for everyone's favorite chronologically unanchored holiday, The Story of the Lizard in the Leg.
Because people keep asking, the Story of The Lizard In That Dude's Leg. Some caveats:

1. This happened more than twenty years ago. There are no pictures. There was a small article in a local paper with, again, no pictures (I'm assuming that's what the producers of 9-1-1: LONE STAR found).

All our fascism is always built on a solid core of white supremacy. It's who we've always been. If we want to live up to our founding ideals, we need to explicitly dismantle it.
Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.

For centuries, cities have been planned by and for able-bodied, gainfully-employed men.

Feminist urban planning isn’t proposing the opposite, but a model that considers all stages of human life, from infancy to old age, without giving greater importance to the productive-work stage.
