Friendly reminder that “both sides are the same” is a load of crap and anyone who says nonsense like that is either a MAGA stooge/Russian bot LARPing as a progressive or a useful idiot for the Trump regime.

Also, Kamala Harris would’ve been better for Gaza. Signed: a Palestinian American.

Aside from Miller’s accidental confession, the only way to answer his question about what would happen if he sent the National Guard into a “nice sleepy Southern town” is if he actually does it.

His slip of the tongue reveals who’s really in charge. trib.al/mIvP0yE

“Illinois governor says we’re provoking actions that are unlawful,” Miller said on CNN. “If I put federal law enforcement and National Guard into a nice sleepy Southern town, is anyone gonna riot?”

As for Gunn’s Superman, I could easily argue that he could’ve saved Malik by simply telling Luthor what he wanted to hear, but he didn’t do that. It’s ok though, because Malik reassured him that he has no family and he’s ok with dying for Supes…
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
I can’t recall any point in any of these films where Supes demonstrated faster than light speeds. It’s not even the only time he failed to stop an explosion. He wasn’t fast enough to stop the Mother Boxes from going off in Justice League either.
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
The point was that his character didn’t have time to do anything. Thats all there is to it. The narrative called for him to fail to stop the bomb from going off, just like how the narrative of the James Gunn movie called for him to fail to save Malik.
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
The point of the scene was that Supes failed to stop the bomb from going off. It’s meant to lead to a narrative low point.
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
By the time he realized something was off, the bomb immediately went off and killed everyone else in the room.
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
He was shown helping out in the aftermath the Capitol explosion. He didn’t save people before the bomb went off because he didn’t have time to react.

The collaborator class seems serenely confident that the Trumpenreich will last a thousand years while the House GOP is in complete meltdown. Look, I’m not *promising* comedy gold by any means, but the possibility is there.

In all honesty, Vero is pretty much dead from what I can tell and he mostly seemed to use it during the Snyder Cut days.

Even if this ceasefire somehow manages to last, it would still be worth pointing out that the initial ceasefire ended under Trump’s watch, so at best, this would just be him fixing his own fuck-up.

I would be more annoyed with people giving Trump credit over Biden on Gaza on main if we didn't already do this in January its just everyone fucking forgot
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
It made my blood boil seeing “progressives” on this very app claiming that Trump deserved all the credit for the January ceasefire because Bibi was just so scared of him.

Wait, why the hell is Megyn Kelly speaking positively of Roger Ailes of all people? Didn’t she famously accuse him of sexual harassment?
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
Important reminder that there was a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas right before Trump took office this year, only for it to be broken shortly afterwards on his watch.

Non-political post: I know he’s gotten a lot of flack in recent years for playing the same role over and over again, especially after the Black Adam fiasco, but I actually do think Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a capable actor. He’s just been unwilling to leave his comfort zone for the longest time.

I'll never let people forget this.

We ran an entire campaign on "Trump is bad for America, Trump is bad for democracy, Trump is bad for *you*" and people went "yeah but how bad could he *actually be*?"
gilmored85.bsky.social
The great irony of blueskys political hobbyists demanding that Ds talk about nothing but this issue now is that Harris actually made "Trumps an existential threat to our democracy" a pretty central campaign focus. Voters shrugged! The online left said she had to be more than just "anti-Trump"!
nutedawn.bsky.social
Sorry but if there is one single US political proposition that we have tested to destruction in recent years, it’s the idea that a critical mass of swing voters see democracy vs authoritarianism as a crucial and salient issue in judging Trump. They simply do not! I don’t like it either
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
To anyone who thinks that it’s screwed up that Dems are “letting” Republicans hurt people, the time to stop this was in the ballots last year. The voters failed to do that. The only way to turn people against Trump is for them to personally be hurt by him.

This is why making the shutdown about healthcare was always risky.
kwcollins.bsky.social
If Dems win the standoff and get their policy demands, yes they will have substantively helped millions of Americans (a good thing, to be clear), but also they will have kept Republicans from a self-inflicted wound in upcoming elections
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
Because tankies always seem to think that Dems are omnipotent and could fix all the world’s problems if they waved their magic wands, but are refusing to do so in the glorious name of capitalism and Israel or some shit.
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
Most of the people who voted for Trump did so for purely selfish and bigoted reasons. You can only extend so much sympathy to Nazis.

Republicans are the ones inflicting harm. Expecting Dems to constantly bail them and their voters out never works. All it does is convince the average American that Trump and the GOP aren’t so bad and that they should vote for them again and again.
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
Personally, at some point, I don’t think the duty should fall squarely on Democrats to save Republican voters from their own stupidity.
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
Republicans are the ones in power. Anything that happens is on them. It sucks that it has to come to this, but there’s no helping it.
wordsornumbers.bsky.social
It should be painfully obvious at this point that the only way to get this country to turn on Trump is if they experience the horrors of his administration firsthand. Dems did their best to reign Trump in during his first term and sadly, it led to the people thinking Trump wasn’t that bad.

This just in: the senile orange rapist thinks fetuses get vaccines.
factpostnews.bsky.social
Trump: I believe in a lot of vaccines. But when you give 82 vaccines and a shot to a little baby that hasn't even formed yet, it's a lot of vaccines.
