I’m an avid gamer (mostly Nintendo, a big Zelda and LOTR fan, and a wannabe writer/filmaker.

I cannot stop laughing. This is so indicative of what's wrong with these AI people and how they view art

Non-important NPC dialogue is a great place to hide some additional story bits, world lore, or just fun character stuff in general. And it's honestly one of the most fun aspects of game development.

Non-important NPC dialogue is a great place to hide some additional story bits, world lore, or just fun character stuff in general. And it's honestly one of the most fun aspects of game development.

This is a clear as crystal example of these companies KNOWING that generative AI crap is a major turn off for people and thus hurts sales because if they actually had confidence in it, they wouldn't be so quick to try and hide it.

In one of the prototype versions of Yoshi's Island, the Baby Mario handover process is unfinished and does not always work. The Yoshi that should be waiting at the end is missing, and the playable Yoshi simply throws Baby Mario onto the ground, making him crawl off by himself.
