It really feels like one of the purposes of AI video is to get us to a point where no video we see on social media and no photograph can be trusted or assumed to be true, and we fully enter a post-truth world.

If you’re unfamiliar, I suggest reading about abandoned battery manufacturing towns across Mexico and Latin America where battery manufacturing has left the rivers unpotable and the soil and air full of lead and mercury. Once enough people start dying, companies abandon them and rebuild elsewhere.

As you fight ICE in your neighborhoods, always look for potentially positive outcomes to counterbalance your anger and despair. For me this continues to be meeting more neighbors, talking to more neighbors, and finding that others close by have also been fighting in ways I was unaware of.

The more we use this technology, the more we necessarily turn over not only our data and our privacy but the basic things we need to survive. Meanwhile, reality is totally reshaped by LLMs as increasingly authoritarian media is pumped out as training data. Nothing could be more useful to them.

The vast majority of the country has no idea how out of control ICE is right now. Yes, there's reporting on ICE raids and protests, but most people are not seeing photos and videos of horrific incidents like this, or the apartment building raid.

I do genuinely believe that the Bluesky team set off from the start to create a decentralized protocol, but unfortunately for them they ended up running a social network. And at this point, AT Proto has become essentially a sort of ideological vaporware; a way for Jay Graber et al to run a social media platform while claiming they don't run a social media platform.

As it starts to get colder I'm dreading having to switch over to layers and pants. Looking for recommendations for staying warm with nerve pain (causes skin sensitivity) and chronic hip/low back pain

It is very difficult to have a positive relationship with one's body when one's body is so medically chaotic that people who don't understand your illness get mad at you for being flaky, when it's like...I'm just trying to stay out of the ER today, I'm so sorry.
