I nuked my meta accounts and never looked back. Every week they give me a new reason that was the right decision. I am routinely begging organizers to get the hell off of Meta and this should absolutely be the final straw. It’s not an organizing tool, it’s a surveillance program.

All my interactions with ICE agents have driven home how these people think there will never be consequences for their actions — legal or otherwise. But they truly do not grasp the scope of anger over what they are doing and how many people are mobilizing against them.

ProPublica spoke to about 150 people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.”

We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words.

radical orgs will literally transfer all their google docs to cryptpad but will still have instagram be the only place anyone can contact them or get info about upcoming actions or events. absolutely baffling.

also: linktr.ee sucks for privacy, stop using them!!
December 9, 2025 at 3:55 PM
also desperately begging orgs to have an email address and not just an insta account. if you don't, you're walling yourself and yr campaigns off from anyone not using that app.
If updates about yr org or project are only posted on Instagram, you are actively choosing to exclude people not on that platform.

Make a simple static website. Even if you decide to feed insta posts onto the homepage in lieu of an updated blog, it's still better than JUST using one walled app.

Love to see the Sedgwick County Zoo putting out a good explainer on why GenAI slop videos of animals are a problem & how to identify them! It’s succinct, easy to read, and doesn’t shame people for not knowing better. A+ useful link to share with family and friends.
