There is a nursing shortage here in Ohio.

Considering the number of medical disciplines they are allowed to see patients for in place of doctors, this results in a provider shortage across the board.
States are going to have to invest in those degrees that were deemed non-professional before the shortage grows.

I just had a Handmaids Tale style dream.
The govt wasn't just killing disabled & non-white ppl. They were killing off anyone who had expended their fertility, & had a compromised immune system, & therefore "kept getting sick all the time."

This feels far away till I recall the time Kash Patel’s girlfriend targeted me in a TPUSA hit piece.
Here’s the TPUSA version of events at OU.

Not surprisingly, they lie about what happened — she wasn’t flunked for quoting the Bible; she never even quoted it — and accuse the instructor, whom they name, as being “mentally ill”

I promise you that when low income folks are telling you that gimmick boycotts interfere with how they schedule their purchases of essentials, the answer is not to preach to them about the existence of thrift stores

A functional democracy is impossible to sustain without a ceiling on concentrated wealth and power. Even a meritorious Musk (and he's not) would pose an existential threat to democracy.

This thread takes a turn I was NOT expecting!!! Holy CRAP!
You know how time perception speeds up as one ages simply due to the fact that one month or year is much larger percent of someone's life at 10 years old than at 60 years old.

But also, consider how fast an infant learns versus and adult. How much new, unknown stuff a child encounters each day.

People think AI is Jarvis.

Instead, it's an advanced word-predictor that can be manipulated with STARTLING ease.

It's not a search engine. It's not reliable. It's a giant, fascist, scam.
ok: 2025 "AI" is built and funded by fascists for fascist purposes, and that should be the first thing anyone talks about when mentioning it in any regard.

that's my view as a technologist.

One-third of the energy now generated in Texas is from renewables like wind and solar. Without this clean energy, the grid in Texas would have failed multiple times and many people would have died. This is something Gov. Abbott and the GOP refuse to tell the public.

Movie pitch: elderly woman becomes so adept at evading her adult children's attempts to monitor her movements that she realizes she could evade police surveillance as well.

Her social security income is about to get a boost from her new retirement hobby: crime.

WE. WERE. BOTH. RIGHT.

According to the radiologist, my right hip has (I kid you not)
- FRAYING of the cartilage
- swelling of the bone marrow
- cysts in my hip socket
- "moderate" osteoarthritis
- "degeneration" of the labrum, but no tears yet.
The excitement when your friend who's been medically gaslit *finally* gets an MRI on the busted body part, and BOTH OF YOUR INJURY PREDICTIONS WERE CORRECT. Hers and mine. Amazing.

Also hips are stupid.
