Reminder, if you live in an area where severe cold is hitting, drop off extra hats, coats, socks, gloves, long underwear, etc at your local emergency cold weather shelters. This is how I clean my coat closets, drawers, etc. each year.

Our emergency shelters are open here due to freezing nights.

Stupid mortgage company is using stall tactics with me paying off loan in full and saying they can't read my ID in the fax, despite everything other document being crystal clear. So, I'm faxing them my ID enlarged full page in both portrait and landscape with a note "I hope you can read this".

It really feels like it was not all that long ago when the picture of someone being tortured in the streets by agents of the state would have been all over the media and provoked universal political condemnation.

Now it is just a Thursday.

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

Yet, the DOJ refuses to release all the files they were court ordered to release under the law. If Bill is guilty then let him be found guilty but at the end of the day, the Trump regime is only going after political enemies. States that didn't vote for him, those that stood up to him, etc.

Oligarchs are preparing for a world of bunkers. It’s a global tragedy that we’re all nationally rearming instead of tackling humanity’s collective crises of climate change, disinformation, infectious disease, environmental degradation
This is a global far right power grab, so the sooner everybody realizes that and puts aside their deeply outdated notions around national identity, which got us here to begin with, the better. The only way out is through, but the only way through is all of us fighting these climate warlords together

OMG, the mortgage company giving me the run around when I just want to pay off the house but they’re dragging it out with BS so they can squeeze out just a few more payments to collect interest which under the law they’re not allowed to do after a death.

One of my coworkers had no idea France had colonized Southeast Asia. She just thought their incorporation of French pastry was a culinary tribute, or related to Julia Child. Her entire concept of colonialism was limited to the Americas.

Amazon is refunding me money because a pair of name brand shoes I bought a year ago might be counterfeit. If they are, I can’t tell. Anyway, happy to get the refund. It was a pleasant surprise. I suspect they sell a lot of counterfeit products via vendors but in this case they were caught.

As I clean out mom’s things I keep coming across rosary prayer beads. There must be at least 50 sets in this box. They’re also good for meditation practice. I have a lifetime supply and more sitting here. Just the little things remembering mom. I really miss her ❤️🙏

I wish there was a rage room near me. I have furniture to donate. It's old furnishings that not even goodwill would take that my parents stashed in the basement and never brought to the dump. Now I get to pay to haul it out. A rage room would be perfect. People could smash it. It's recycling!

How old and tired is this headline from today? Over the years we've seen this talked about more times than I can count yet nothing ever happens.
Democrats call to invoke 25th Amendment against Donald Trump
The amendment allows presidents to be removed from office against their will.

Seattle looks to be the next target as they've been ramping up their activities in the last couple of days here. Trump is sending them to every state that voted against him and terrorizing citizens with his secret police/gestapo/terrorists.

Please read the responses to this thread. If we all remain keyboard warriors instead of joining our local legislative democrats and volunteer/get your hands busy working nothing changes. Being a keyboard warrior is easy, but doesn’t change things. It’s just bitching into the void.
Playing devils advocate here but sometimes it’s super hard to find qualified candidates that stand a chance of winning a legislative district, especially in a red district or a swing district. This MIGHT be what happened here, sadly.

In the 1990s, cable news networks discovered that viewers were less likely to click away from coverage of culture war issues than coverage of economic matters.

TV news started giving social issues greater priority - and caused voters to do the same, a new study suggests www.vox.com/politics/475...
