just leave the fish tank light on babe and crank the mothеrfucking Für Elise
watching Zohran on Adam Friedland and it is genuinely so refreshing to have a politician who's young enough and engaged enough to mockingly reference the Ruthkanda Forever tweet. what other politician at his level can you even imagine doing anything close to that?

Creative Scotland would be a good start but this really applies to every major cultural body in Scotland - TV channels, radio stations, cinemas, museums and galleries, just an endemic timidity to the whole sector, a complete lack of confidence in what we've got

it's already made but I force the Prince estate to allow the release of the nine hour Ezra Edelman doc
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

can't wait to check in on all the fellas
thinking, as I do intermittently, about the scene in otherwise mostly family-friendly summer blockbuster Rush Hour 3 where it's implied that Roman Polanski fists Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker

“separating the art from the artist” is a flawed concept and usually simply used as an excuse to unthinkingly consume but there is definitely spectrum of listenability for music i find out is made by losers

"The Appointments of Dennis Jennings" was released in theaters a few years after its Oscar win as part of the package film Two Mikes Don't Make a Wright--which combines it with Michael Moore's Roger & Me addendum "Pets or Meat" and...Mike Leigh's "A Sense of History"!!! A very 90s object

I feel like it is culturally important to note that I recently played an old episode of the Simpsons on Disney+ for some kids and then a random newer episode and the kids, unprompted, were like “how come this isn’t as funny?” so it’s not just nostalgia we are correct

just almost got knocked down at a zebra crossing in a supermarket car park by an old guy who had slowed down to let someone on the other side across but didn't even stop or check my side before speeding up again and once again suggesting that not everyone needs a seven tonne death machine

saw The Last Jedi once when it was first released, enjoyed it more than any Star Wars product since the OG trilogy or anything that came afterwards, went on with my life and didn't really think much more about it, but have to give it up that it *still* makes the most annoying people in the world mad

RIP Udo Kier. Had an incredible evening circa 2009 seeing him interviewed by Bruce LaBruce onstage in Toronto. “So you were roommates with Fassbinder?” asked LaBruce. “AH YES!” replied Udo. “Vee vere… ‘room mates’!”
