My dad’s still in hospital and will be over Christmas, maybe longer. It’s tough trying to stay cheerful online when things feel so dark right now, but I’m doing my best.

Seeing bad faith folks yet again pretend Glaze is environmentally impactful (it’s not), and claim style mimicry isnt a problem, when so many artists have been screwed over by LORAs.

Just to be clear, webglaze runs on a server that is more than 3 years old, on NVidia Titan RTX GPUs, which you can buy on some bigger laptops. It consumes about 1/2 the power of an A100, which is the previous generation of server GPUs. Webglaze runs on < 0.5 modern datacenter GPU.

If you live in the UK, please set aside some time and fill this out. The Gov is proposing "opt out" schemes for farming our copyrighted works into AI datasets. This puts the onus on the individual rather than the corporations. Go do your part!
UK WRITERS: You need to fill in this consulation. Govt is very clearly looking to an opt-out model of rights licensing that puts all the burden on creators instead of profiteers. It's long and boring but this is important.
