Over the past week, Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure have left people across the country without electricity, heating, and water amid subzero temperatures.

The Kyiv Independent team is reporting from Kyiv, where prolonged blackouts have forced us to adapt.

The first thing I did after listening to this clip is to find out when it took place. I would love to believe that Carney would still say the same 100% accurate statements today but I know that is never going to happen.

Does this story tell us that the Government needs to pay their lawyers more? Not blaming the lawyers, per se, but I never thought they would lose this appeal.

This is a terrible ruling, considering the times we live on - says this armchair lawyer.

😊 for your hubbie and our Canadian traditions.

Meanwhile, in Metro Vancouver, I see my crocus starting to flower. Very not normal. Seeing #climatechange all around us so, even on this very pleasant day, it makes me feel uneasy.

Because it will take years before it is up and running, assuming there will be an acceptable location. After listening to what @markhamhislop.bsky.social and the experts he has interviewed have said, they have convinced me that they are better optionsI instead of putting money into a dying industry.

@markhamhislop.bsky.social has been banging the drum to branch out and sell products that use oil in their production, instead of just selling unrefined oil. For example, heavy crude is used in making asphalt products.

I think the idea of a refinery was a good one 15 years ago. Not anymore.

One of the many things I love about Canada's Supreme Court is that I don't know most of the Justices' names.

You can take the man out of racist South Africa, but you'll never take that racism out of him. Musk is dangerous because there are too many worshipers at the altar of his cesspool, Twitter X. That font of disinformation is a threat to liberal democracies everywhere. Damn him.

Since Canada has never and will never lead on this, it will be left to other countries to do it first and second and third and... The best we can hope for is that the government finally stops posting to it.

I am relieved that my MP is not using Xwitter at all.

I am awfully glad to see this. Please do your best to inform Minister Solomon and PM Carney to also follow your good example.

Writing your MP does sometimes gets results. My Liberal MP is not on X so that is a start.
Thank you for raising this concern. Our team consciously chose from the start not to maintain an account on X. As constituents convey their concerns to us about X, our staff make sure to put these concerns to other departments as well.

Heart Failure Deaths Have Accelerated in US Since Covid Pandemic

"The Covid pandemic didn’t just kill people directly. It appears to have accelerated a long-brewing reversal in US heart failure deaths, with mortality climbing faster since 2020 after years of decline, new research shows."

The people who typically own guns in Canada probably are more align with the Maga types than not. I can't know for sure but rural areas, where gun ownership is highest, are usually conservative voters.

This sort of article, of which we have seen many, raises a curious question for me. If these Americans love us so much, how come they are not coming into Canada to show how much they really care about us?
