You know how Americans are surprised to learn that gun deaths are rare in most other countries, pedestrian-centered cities are normal, or everybody else uses metric? That, but discovering that the rest of the world moved to EVs.
It's funny how us parochial Americans generally seem to perceive that the EV revolution is stalling or reversing when in fact it's accelerating rapidly worldwide. 25% of cars sold globally in 2025 were EVs!

It's mostly just the US that's being left behind

Teacher here:

Teachers absolutely DO NOT need AI to make their jobs easier.

We need good high-quality curriculum (costs money)
We need resources and supplies (costs money)
We need smaller class sizes (costs money)

We don't need AI slop substituting for any of that.

For at least a decade I have been told that “the blockchain” was not just for crypto but was a transformative technology that would be broadly adopted for thousands of uses.
Facebook renamed itself Meta and lit $77 billion on fire for the metaverse just to abandon it five years later.
Hoverboards are the future, segways are the future, betamax, laser disc, Google glass is the future, 3d tvs are the future, curved screens are the future.

Like do we have to traipse through the whole graveyard of tech to get these people to understand just becauae you say it doesn't make it true.

Please read this post. Please note all of the citations. Please acknowledge the terrible harms of these "A.i." products and end your partnership with these companies.

The "A.i." products used created a slicker final presentation. But slickness means nothing in education. Only thought and creativity and work. You're cheating kids of actual creative work, turning them into button operators instead of thinkers and doers.

Shame on you.

"Users must recognize the environmental impact of advanced technologies and promote sustainable practices within educational settings"

Again, laughably offensive. Shifting responsibility for massive environmental damage by corporations onto consumers.

No. Individuals can't fix this. Ban "A.i."

No. "A.i." products DESTROY creativity by telling kids their own minds and thoughts and hands are inadequate for producing worthwhile writing and art.

How do you believe a child you've instructed to use this miserable technology should provide "attribution"?

This, in my opinion, is an inexcusably hand-wavey attempt to paper over the question of theft based on a vast misunderstanding of the way this product works.

"Users of technology & AI should value the work of the people who created the content that technology uses to enhance learning. This respect must be overt & never used without attribution."

You are personally insulting me with this unworkable & contemptuous passage. "A.i." companies have robbed me.

"Schools must adopt effective filters to block inappropriate or misleading content."

What filters block misleading content from ChatGPT? Is there a "no disinfo" or "no faked citations" or "no hallucinations" filter?

There is not. This is poisoned tech. You have to block the entire product.

No. Elected officials must increase the number of teachers and their pay, and fund arts programs. "A.i." should get no money.

most mcu viewers don’t read marvel comics. The mcu isn’t 616 and isn’t trying to be. But all the context and qualifiers in the world don’t change the fact that they are bringing steve back because they have no faith in the Sam they created. And in the America we live in right now, that’s a statement

I had a teacher who reversed that and said "Know what you write." Like if you're writing about Elizabethan England, you don't need to already be an expert, just do some research beyond reading Shakespeare and watching Elizabeth. Research is one of the fun parts anyway. I found that much more useful.
