When I get review code, unless explicitly allowed by the publisher, I don't even mention I'm reviewing a game. When one person screws up, us freelancers are the ones who lose out the most because publishers/PR people get jittery. For the love of god, just keep mum until publication.

It's almost like constantly firing and ending careers of talented critics, who are thus unable to foster longterm collegiality, mentorship and support, leads to bad situations that could undermine the entire industry?? But I'm not a smart business genius suit man, so what do I know?
This happening at a Valnet owned site is proof that games media cannot continue to exist with 0 mentorship, editorial oversight, general education for new writers.
No writer assigned a review should not understand what an "embargo" is and how to uphold it.
