Ah, I see driving at someone with intent isn't an issue if they do it.
This administration is cooked. Literally no one is scared of them.

Me a middle-aged dad who grew up in the Midwestern snow belt, looking out the window this morning:

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you”
a laborious day for dads everywhere. may your icemelt be heavy and your shovels light. take care of your neighbors and stay warm

11:15am: Absolutely puking snow out there. The best time to enjoy the snow (sledding, walks, etc) is starting now and will last the next few hours before sleet starts to creep in. I hope you all are able to get out there and take it all in!!

As a 40 year old white man in a snow storm, there isn't much I love more than being helpful to my neighbors by shovelling snow and getting rid of ICE.

How do we activate Mike Tyson like the Manchurian candidate
On tonight’s White House agenda:

Trump and guests will get a private screening of MELANIA, the documentary about the First Lady, @thr.com reports.

Attendees include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, Mike Tyson, per the article.

If we have learned anything this past year, let it be that 2nd amendment folks are full of shit. And the next Dem government should trample on their rights as hard as trump has trampled on everyone else's.

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

I'll say yet again: Trump & his party do something virtually every day that constitutes a more violent & alarming suppression of speech than anything that happened during the entire alleged tyranny of woke. Every day. Yet the entire Free Spech army has just vanished into mist.
I wrote on the shameful situation re: the recession of a deanship to Emily Suski at the University of Arkansas Law. What was the reason? Prof. Suski signed an amicus brief supporting trans rights. The Arkansas legislators admitted that was it! Horrible outcome. ballsandstrikes.org/legal-cultur...
A Law School Dean Signed a Brief Defending Trans Rights. She Lost Her Job Because of It
The revocation of Emily Suski’s job offer at the University of Arkansas sends a chilling message to law professors everywhere.

every month we spend with him embarrassing himself to no benefit while having a nominal trifecta & a still mostly prostrate judiciary is another month closer to having tools to really frustrate him
We'll see, but I don't think the apparent TACO on Greenland will last long. It's just another case of "last person he talked to," and that won't be the Europeans once he's back at the West Wing / Mar-a-Lago. For their own anti-NATO reasons, too many in the inner circle are determined to push this.

Regardless of the astros stuff, I'm happy for carlos
We have two new Hall of Famers.

Carlos Beltran and Andruw Jones have been elected by the BBWAA.

We'd had 2 center fielders elected in the previous 45 years ... and now 2 in one night!

I said this to Spencer Ackerman once and he basically said "The libraries have to buy the book too"
Someone said to me, "I'm sorry but I got your book from a library." Nobody should ever apologise for that. You read my book! That's brilliant! I grew up hanging out in libraries and the idea of a world without them fills me with dread. Without libraries, authors, like readers, will only suffer.

Biden chose policy (ARP/IRA). It didn’t fix the authoritarian problem

The platform must be institutional reform next time. Right from the start, as @dhnexon.bsky.social said
If we want to actually be a representative democracy, then the platform needs to be institutional reform. All the Popularism and all the policies follow from that, not the other way around.
- DC/PR/USVI statehood
- Enlarging the House
- MMDs
- New VRA
- Totally revamping SCOTUS: bsky.app/profile/mcop...
- Automatic universal voter registration
- Rewriting the "national emergency" laws: bsky.app/profile/mcop...
- Subordinating the Senate: bsky.app/profile/mcop...
Etc.
