Just trying to get a hang of this thing. Same handle on the other site.
The only good thing about this execrable song is that meme that depicts the children enacting some sort of witchcraft in the verses before they’re interrupted and have to belt out the chorus that they’re “simply having a wonderful Christmastime.”

Canada, man.
My favorite show as a child was TV Ontario’s READ ALL ABOUT IT, about three kids who decide to start a local newspaper…and discover two sentient computers…and a portal to another dimension…ruled by a floating evil green head…whose alternate identity was the town’s mayor.

We watched in class, btw.
I think if Canada wants to have a strong cultural identity we need to go back to doing what we're best at, making the weirdest fucking TV shows you've ever seen

Sign up everyone.
When DCist was shut down, it had 70,000+ subscribers.
The 51st is proud to carry forward the spirit with which DCist served our city.

But we can’t stop thinking about how most of those subscribers — our neighbors and friends — are just no longer receiving the kind of local news they signed up for.

This is why economists shouldn’t be entrusted with children.
Just got to the airport with the kids and was pleasantly surprised to have gotten one kiddo upgrade. Problem: I have two kids.

So I'm holding an auction and they're each bidding on how many times they will unload the dishwasher over Thanksgiving. Highest bid gets the upgrade.

This is great stuff by @timcarman.bsky.social; I saw Chris Whitley a number of times in concert, in DC, Boston, and Portland. The last show I saw, he did "Pancho and Lefty" and Dave Pirner from Soul Asylum in the audience joined in. A truly legendary songwriter and player.

Donald Trump could have just kept his mouth shut about Jamal Khashoggi.

But to smear a dead journalist, while sitting with the person accused of orchestrating his murder is just vile.

Every time this administration hits rock bottom, a trap door seems to open.

Cretin behavior.
