Problem is that its assumptions are wrong. But some classics survive incorrect starting points. Shepsle’s structure introduced equilibrium is one of the great ideas of political science.
Rat choice is extremely useful in the fact that the approach makes its assumptions explicit rather than implicit, which is good.

Bentley, Truman, Key.
The book Voting by Lazarsfeld and others holds up surprisingly well.

Rat choice failed as foundational, but as a heuristic has its uses. I hope some of my work helped in that failure. Unfortunately too much political behavior today ignores groups, focusing on individual attitudes instead.
Political Science research took a hard detour to economics with the rational choice movement while I've always thought we'd be better off if we were closer to sociology. You just cannot escape the centrality of groups.

Texas A&M is deploying AI to search professors’ syllabi for forbidden topics. One of the early massive uses of AI may well be monitoring and controlling individual behavior by government. That means you, TAMU Regents.

BREAKING NEWS: Actual facts appear for the first time on "Truth" Social.

A&M students, faculty and administrators want a great university. The Regents want a third rate college with a good football team.
I’m a Longhorn. As such, I do indeed love throwing barbs at OU and Texas A&M, our famed rivals.

Having said this, what’s happening to their academic freedom is devastating. They are both excellent schools. They admit bright students. Those students deserve SO much better.

His invention of “Kavanaugh stops”is a proud admission of racism.
Oh so Kavanaugh doesn’t want his name associated with ICE arresting people who look like they might be Hispanic or are speaking Spanish?

Too late, shitbird. It’s stuck to you like a vinyl seat on a summer day in Tucson.
Brett Kavanaugh Is Trying to Walk Back “Kavanaugh Stops.” Too Late.
It appears the justice has some regrets.

Hypothesis: the richer the person or organization, the quicker the capitulation.
One of the few silver linings that have come from this harsh year of deportations and ICE raids is that it has clarified which people and institutions will use their voices to push back and which will choose accommodation.

Yes, and Musk is lying. Lying is a fundamental element in attempting to hide incompetence.

Through DOGE Musk has shown himself to be a massively incompetent administrator. NYT demonstrates the incompetence and the wreckage it has wrought. Kudos to the free press.

Should compare them to street level criminals.
Remember how all the people with cooler heads said comparing them with nazis was being hysterical

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

The only question is whether Texas state administrators are sick cowards or coming out racists.
“If I remain silent in a situation or injustice like this, that is betraying the history that I go out and promote and that I’ve given my life to for the past 35 years now,” he said. “This is not a time to be silent.”
