For anyone following the right’s surge in local races in north Texas, this is HUGE.
All 7 Patriot Mobile-backed candidates in Tarrant County lost last night, including Mansfield, Keller, and Grapevine-Colleyville. Huge.

Feels like the moment MeToo went from discussing sexual assault and harassment by celebrities to examining these same abuses by family and friends, we saw an acceleration of the argument that “society gives boys nothing”. An orchestrated backlash by abusers who saw that their unmasking was coming.

Let's also stop putting politicians on pedestals though.

Yes.
There are very few elected American politicians who have acted as resistance leaders (Dems) in the 20th and 21st century. That has not been their role.

That role has been filled by community and activist organizations. The people. Us.

For decades, the right has been obsessed with apartheid South Africa as a way to mourn the end of formal segregation in the US. With neo-segregationists now in power, it’s no wonder they’re opening the doors to white South Africans, using racist conspiracy theories to justify their actions.

Congressman @beyer.house.gov will be going to USAID today with colleagues to shine a light on what is happening there, I think others will join us. Figuring out details now and will share but flagging now for press and public in the area

What's fascinating is that the DNC (and America) lost in 2024 for nearly the exact same reasons we lost in 2016, something the interview doesn't cover. We keep playing the same playbook and keep losing. You can't go on stage and say "the economy is stronger than ever" when people aren't feeling that

The only people out here doing “pure philanthropy” ARE grassroots organizations.

The ONLY organizations that are ensuring you are seeing tomorrow are the ones y’all don’t even uplift in the bad times. The ones passing the same $20 around trying to survive

Not shocked

Also don’t be shocked when you see Black Boomers and Gen Xers come out to support this after awhile too. They will.

The same generations who have been calling Black Millennials and Gen Zers lazy and feckless and refusing to cede power or offer tutelage in ANY FIELD will cowtail to this
I'm increasingly pissed off at men in leadership positions posting here that companies backsliding on DEI etc is inevitable, and treating people who are angry about it as naive children. All you are showing is that you are a leader who either a) doesn't care or b) lacks the guts to fight against it.

I watched the film 'Farha' on @netflix.com last night after seeing this post, + would highly recommend.

A true story, it brings to life in a very personal way the violent mass ethnic cleansing of Palestinians that led to the foundation of Israel in 1948, and has informed its history ever since.
Zionists are once again trying to get Farha removed from Netflix.

It’s based on the true story of a girl who’s forcibly displaced from her home to Syria in 1948. Zionists hate it because it reflects the truth & have unsuccessfully tried since its release (2021) to get it removed.

Give it a watch!

The family has been slowly taking over the 99% Black neighborhood for the last several decades

It's the latest example of the city allowing special dispensations for heavy industry operations nestled in majority-Black neighborhoods.

There are times when people say "What a bunch of cowards!" about Democrats and it isn't quite fair. This time it absolutely is.

The US Media Is Ignoring Israel’s Campaign to Kill Palestinian Journalists
Israel is trying to snuff out journalism in Gaza. This should be a sound-the-alarm, all-hands-on-deck moment for anyone who professes to support reporters and the work that they do.
