If Keith Floyd could serve up sprouts whilst half pissed so can I.
Down with "Woke" Christmas Dinner service I say. I may drape myself in the Yorkshire flag whilst carving our Patriotic Turkey.

Otd in 1974, striker Mick Butler, missing since breaking his leg on Nov 23rd in the FA Cup v Halifax, had a setback as he had a cartilage op & had to spend Christmas in hospital. He described it as “the worst Christmas of my life” #BarnsleyFC #MickButler

On this day in 2001, Barnsley started the day in the Division One relegation zone but a 4-1 win v Gillingham lifted them out. Reds scored all 5 - Lumsdon, Barnard, Dyer and Jones for BFC and a Chris Morgan OG for the visitors albeit the mistake was Kevin Miller's.

Have a soft spot for the England cricket team but they’ve deserved this Ashes annihilation from the off

British press was full of preening ‘this is our year’ nonsense before a ball had even been bowled

Bazball is pure ‘Global Britain’ Brexit BS. Full of exceptionalism and hot air

Spare a thought this festive season for those who will be spending the Yuletide period all on their own, with no family to visit them. People like ‘A’, who will spend this Christmas without any of his titles.

From the new Private Eye, out now.

This is what is wrong with modern click-bait media. You have to read to the end before you find out it wasn’t a bomb.

Most people, and Trump, and Musk, will only read the headline and come to entirely the wrong conclusion.

Good work by the bomb squad btw, not so good from the Standard.
