My friend just rescued a cat who had been in a hoarder’s house and then in a shelter’s cage for five months. Came home today.

I haven’t wanted to hug something more in my entire life than I want to hug Bob.

Maria Shriver, niece of JFK:

He was a man interested in the arts, culture, education, language, history... It is beyond comprehension that the president has sought to rename this great memorial.

C’mon my fellow Americans! Wake up! This is not dignified. This is not funny... It’s downright weird.

In a world where fewer and fewer people concern themselves with the plight of others, the loss of Rob Reiner, who cared deeply about humanitarian causes, feels that much more devastating. RIP: 1947-1925.

I don't know anything about what happened inside Rob and Michele Reiner's house yesterday, before the horror, but I can't help thinking this:

They didn't give up. They didn't give up on their kid.

Sometimes not giving up ends in unspeakable tragedy. But still. They didn't give up on their kid.

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

Some of my happiest times as a teacher were showing Stand By Me to my Yr11 classes during their last 2 lessons with me.
I did it for decades and each class loved watching it.
Rob Reiner perfectly captured that wistful tone about childhood’s end as seen here:

As a tech guy, many folks assume I support data centers in Maine. I do not. We already have substantial energy challenges to address and Poland Springs is already decimating the water supply. DCs would push our struggling system over the edge. Let's focus on lowering energy costs instead #mepolitics
