Several media skews & biases here, some conscious, some unconscious.

Even liberal outlets treat these fragments as maybe reflecting public opinion, because they are a vocal noisy niche within the majority group

Media won't do that if 25/50k people protest trans issues, or Gaza, or trade union
I don’t want to be too shrill about this but I think the BBC, ITV and Sky have disgraced themselves in their coverage of the anti-refugee protests. A massive failure of judgement. But now we know the next time a progressive protest “isn’t news” that it’s nothing to do with numbers

There was a large wall here at 11am. Storm Bert didn't see things that way.

Storms aren't new, but their modern frequency and intensity is.

At 1.5° above preindustrial baseline there's 11% more water in the atmosphere.

We're cruising, comfortably, towards 2° by 2040.

Just saying.

Since 2002, Greenland lost 5,900 billion tonnes (gigatonnes) of ice. To put that into perspective, imagine if the whole state of New South Wales was covered in ice 8 metres thick….

Meltwater from Greenland and the Arctic is weakening ocean circulation, speeding up warming down south
New research shows melting ice is causing the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) to slow down, with widespread consequences for the world’s climate and ecosystems.

When they’re not obsessing about VAT on private school fees…
One third of children in the UK are living in poverty and we have had a day with the media obsessing about rich farmers who want to keep their millions tax free. Who is orchestrating this utterly bizarre news agenda, and why?
