Keir Starmer in 2027: "We need to machine gun small boats to halt the rise of the far right."
The thing I still can't forgive Corbyn for is the generational harm he caused by enabling Brexit. When Starmer is gone, hopefully soon, I will feel the same way about the profound harm he has caused by making it palatable for the Far Right to ditch human rights norms. It will be his shameful legacy.

Travelling to the US, e.g. for the 2026 World Cup?
Soon you will need to provide details of social media activity for the past five years.
Aim is to comply with President Trump’s demand for all visitors to be “vetted and screened to the maximum degree possible”.

The more we discover, the worse it gets. Now we learn the water companies wrote the guidance ensuring sewage sludge is not tested for the vast majority of contaminants before being spread on farmland. They gave themselves a free licence to dump hazardous waste. 🧵

This is a great thread outlining what happened with Unbound, who published the first two Effin' Birds books, which they then sublicensed to a US publisher — that means they collected my US royalties, took a cut, and passed the rest to me.

They owe me as much as I made in a year at my old day job.
So, this Unbound/Boundless fiasco. I was going to be polite about it, but after this morning’s email: no

1. This is Piles Copse, the largest remaining fragment of high-ground temperate rainforest on Dartmoor. It’s a tiny speck of green in a dismal, human-made desert. Prepare yourselves for a story of breathtaking perversity, told in this thread. (There’s a one-page version at the bottom). 🧵

In defending Rishi Sunak's non-disclosure of his financial interests, in appointing a Covid Corruption Commissioner in name only, and in arguing against the public interest in transparency, the Cabinet Office is a leopard which hasn't changed its spots. And you really ought to ask, 'why?'

Yet again, if these were climate protestors, there'd have been multiple arrests, with some facing years in jail for "public nuisance". But farmers can block the road and drown out the Prime Minister and the police won't touch them.

Straight out of Trump's playbook. Call it out!
Now GB News has started pushing a toxic suggestion that the NHS has a "diversity obsession" which is "killing patients".

This is what Sky, Trailfinders and Trivago are enabling by supporting GB News

It will only add to concerns about efforts by GB News to bring Trump's playbook to the UK.
