#axecon Feels like cognitive whiplash going from Alice Wong telling everybody "100% accessibility is bullshit" in the kickoff keynote speech to Deque's founder Preety Kumar touting advancements in automated accessibility in the very next presentation.

If you need a break from being traumatized in real life, might I suggest being traumatized by @rfkuang.bsky.social? Just finished the last Poppy War book and will need several moments to recover. Highly recommend

I’m so sad I didn’t try perler beads until now. Kid and I impulse-bought some and have been having the best time

This book was recommended to me ages ago by a friend and I have no excuse for why it took me so long to read it. A mystery around the shady side of online dating, it has a good amount of turns and a lot of cynicism for folks tired of swiping. And the sequel just came out!

Unsolicited writing advice, #17171617:
Don't just write. Read books. Watch films. Look at paintings and sculpture. Play games. Go to plays. Listen to music. Think about how these things make you feel.
Making art is a two-way stream. To make art, you have to consume art.

I really hope at some point the rightwing victimhood thing rings hollow because we’re at the point now where they have the Supreme Court, 99.9% of billionaires, the house, the senate, the presidency, and they’re going “you know who is oppressing us now? The deaf”
🔊 PSA for nondisabled people 🔊

It's time to step the FUCK up if you wanna be an ally.

ASL interpretation is being targeted by right wing cry baby douchebags.

Shut this shit down when you see it. SPEAK UP. This barrage of ASL hate is heavier than usual.

Second read of the year. Fast-paced with solid small-town vibes. If I ever meet that uncle, 🥊

This book costs about the same as 1 month's subscription to Twitter Blue. It took 8 months to write and contains around 90k words. I think you'll like it.

#authors of Bluesky, what are you writing lately? In the midst of setting up my presence here, I'm currently drafting a cozy novel inspired by games like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon.
