Hello new followers! I'm your auntie who likes to remind you that you are enough.

I swear, I knit, I read and write romance and read almost anything, I am chronically ill. I post about anything and everything and fangirl over BTS and many other kpop groups. Kindness matters. Remember that.

It appears that this legend owns a little bookstore — and you can order books from him instead of Bezos. Link in next post.

I love how hard he's working to be transparent and communicate clearly about the infrastructure of his city during a snow emergency. This is how it should always be done. Always.
One of the hardest things to do is bring campaign-level communications to the work of governance, and snowstorms are notoriously one of the biggest litmus tests that less-engaged voters use to judge mayoral administrations. This is an excellent way to communicate.

if I could get everyone to do one (1) book related thing right now, it would be to preorder Prince of Storms from Tropes & Trifles in Minneapolis.

1) I mean preorders make me look fancy
2) they are an amazing bookstore dedicated to hope & happy endings in a city going through it.

They know each other because they're fucking neighbors. If they don't know you can get breathing protection at a hardware store, one of their neighbors knows it because their neighbor does woodworking or welding or shit like that, and their neighbor is like "oh yeah let's go to Lowes."
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

btw about this: enough people have asked that (since I DO pay for the commercial license, in spite of the designer telling me not to pay him lol) I'm going to put some tiny whistle packs up in our shop. I know not everyone needs $100 & some just want something cute from me.
And a final reminder: we do not sell whistles. We take requests from between 100 - 1000 (or more if you're a local organization w/ high distro capacity) and we print & ship them free. Always free.

Thanks to the folks who have allowed us to scale up while keeping that true.

So many terrible things are happening all the time, but people still need to eat, people still need to make rent, people still need to keep the heat on. I know we're all stretched thin now, but even a little bit helps!
I know the world is on fire, but I need help covering $605 of utilities/bills for Feb or I will overdraft. I do not ask lightly.

I'm a disabled queer trans artist medically unable to go back to gig work & humbly asking for for help.

When I tell you that @mostlybree.kitrocha.com is keeping me sane because of her joy and her adhd cults and posts like this. I laughed so hard the dam inside me broke, and it needed to break. I needed to purge and the tears needed to fall. Bree, who barely knows me, is doing so much for me. Thanks
the best part of this post is the roughly 17% of you who thought a harbor seal was holding back the apocalypse and is either metaphorically or literally cracking

thank you for your service to us on this day

I really need people who see this to ask themselves what good reform is going to do. Another law on the books? A constitutional amendment?

What does that matter when the people in charge of the agency are hyping them up and telling them to do violence and that they are inherently immune if they do?
We should not fund DHS without serious reform. We could return CBP to border. We could require warrants for immigration arrests. We could beef up training and require identification.

The list of possible reforms is long. What's unacceptable is the current lawless status quo.

I believe we are going to win.

I will hate them forever for making us fight.

I'm going to go stand out in the cold and light a candle for those we've lost today, last week, last year, since white people first stepped foot on this continent. So much loss. So much collective pain. A candle isn't enough but in this moment it's what I have.

So jist for people who seem confused or newish

An agitator is someone who is pushing for violence, and it's often phrased as 'you oughta' or '"we" oughta' but they're never the ones. They're just trying to rile up others.

It doesn't mean your friend who's having a meltdown, there you reach out.
You should also always block agitators.
