'Reined in' from this guy. Keeping a list so we'll know who passes this thing with "guardrails" instead of abolish.
It's simple: the DHS bill isn't going to pass if its lawlessness isn't reined in.
Democrats sought common sense reforms in the Department of Homeland Security spending bill, but because of Republicans’ refusal to stand up to President Trump, the DHS bill is woefully inadequate to rein in the abuses of ICE. I will vote no.

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA-17) is not just calling on the Senate to reject the DHS funding bill, but is also calling on Congress to enact actual consequences for ICE’s illegal activities.
Congress is not powerless. Democrats must unify around an actual agenda.

1. Vote no on DHS funding bill.

2. Repeal the multi-year $75 billion funding for ICE.

3. End qualified immunity for ICE agents.

4. Investigate and prosecute every single ICE agent who broke the law.

I made this account with the intent of helping people shame dems into doing something, but I feel like people also need to be aware of how the GOP is reacting, especially those of us that are little blue dots.

Tina Peters is serving 9 years for her role in breaching election integrity. As a CO county clerk, she abused her role to tamper with election equipment and shared sensitive data to prove “the big lie”. She was convicted on 7 counts (4 felonies). At sentencing, the judge said she showed no remorse.

I’ve never heard of a “law enforcement” agency putting an officer who just killed someone back on the street under 24 hours. And that’s because all shootings are treated as homicides pending investigation. This is as clear a sign as you’ll get that DHS personnel enjoy practical immunity from murder.
CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

Nevada’s Sen. Jacky Rosen calling for Kristi Noem’s removal from office.
Kristi Noem and her department’s latest attempt to mislead the American public regarding the brutal and unjustified killing of Alex Pretti is deeply shameful, and she must be impeached and removed from office immediately.

Why does ABC think we need the Treasury Secretary’s interpretation of ICE’s extrajudicial killing of a civilian?
Bessent: "He brought a gun. Have you ever gone to a protest?"

Karl: "We do have a 2nd Amendment in this country."

Bessent: "Have you gone to a protest?"

Karl: "As a reporter covering it."

Bessent: "I've been to a protest. Guess what? I didn't bring a gun. I brought a billboard."

I find this language really gross. First off, it's weak as hell. But second, if your demand is simply that ICE leaves Minnesota, that's just telling them to go to another state to terrorize people.

These centrist squishes need to push for full abolition of ICE.
Our message is clear: ICE needs to get out of Minnesota.

We need more officials speaking out like Rep. Seth Moulton (MA-06). He’s not just saying yesterday was a step too far. He wants to see consequences. He wants to see prosecutions.

Here’s hoping enough of his colleagues feel the same way and aren’t scared to say so.

ICE is full of COWARDS. They are all absolute, pathetic, untrained COWARDS. DEFUND AND PROSECUTE.

Same guidelines apply to our elected officials. Just because a statement came from a government agency doesn’t mean it is guaranteed to be true. If there are issues with the veracity of an agency’s statement, use your legislative/executive power to investigate and do something about it.
A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
