WaPo is no longer an option that I feel good about but I want to continue getting a physical paper delivered to my house as I've done my entire life. The other options seem to be NYT, WSJ and USA Today. Should I subscribe to USA Today?? I must be truly desperate if I'm even considering this

Excellent thread here. Too bad it has come to this with the @washingtonpost.com

NEA Lock Out Day 12-We remain locked out. My colleagues in Campaigns & Elections are getting even more frustrated. As I said Sunday: "What a time to be alive and NOT actually working in politics." This is unsustainable and our health insurance expires July 31. This is NOT union values.

Lockout Day 6. Fun fact. Unlike many employers, the NEA does not offer annual COLAs. Our last contract didn’t keep up normal inflation, much less what we ended experiencing. Our ask is 4% for each year of our 3 year contract. Essentially, we’re asking for a COLA.

My southern Democratic uncle is blathering on about states’ rights and my Republican brother in law keeps talking about abolition and progressive policy.
Ugh, my Roundhead uncle is arguing for Presbyterianism and parliamentary supremacy. My Cavalier uncle won’t shut up about the divine right of kings and the Laudian religious reforms.

People are often confused when they *think* their numbers are private. Pollsters use all sorts of data sources to contact voters. And if you use your phone number with your voter registration, it’s in the public record.
Some confusion about the mysterious Zoning for Housing survey on the listserv today...

@alexpitchbot.bsky.social Alexandria has perfected its bond ratings why that’s bad for your property value and how zoning changes will reduce them to junk bonds.
