Watch my process as I figure out what I need to do to execute an idea. Please note: whats happening in my head, isn’t what you’re seeing in these images, not fully anyway.

Little mini tapestry… 🥰

This was SUPPOSED to be a stand alone thing, but I see bigger things for its future.

Quilt top 1 is finally finished. All dyes and pigments were extract from plants, the yarn, the fabric, the printing ink. I grew and harvested the seeds. And beads all came from a variety of places in West Africa.

this is exactly what i’m getting at when i see these people have no understanding of civil society. they do not seem to conceptualize other people as having agency whatsoever.

Rewatching “The Photograph” (with Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield) and they talking about rappers and it’s hilarious now 5 years later. They talking about Kanye not caring about “us” no more, Drake and his feelings, and Kendrick and how he makes folks feel guilty. 😂😂😂😂

Imagine my delight when I found a package full of cotton seeds in my mailbox. As a seed keeper I hope to acquire an extensive collection of a variety of ancestral plants. (1)

Thought I’d start sharing what I’m reading (consistently) and since it’s a new app, I’ll be consistent over here. I read nearly exclusively Black, but I’ve been expanding a bit to other POC (primarily WOC) authors. But it’s February so it’s going to be ALL Black. Here’s what’s going on this week.

I suppose I oughtta start posting, huh? I’m a fiber artist that practices tradition of natural dye and pigments. my work focuses on the resilience of Black Americans and how we continue to survive, and even thrive, despite everything thrown at us.

My husband had The Parable of the Sower on hold at the library, and his wait time was like 18 weeks or something. Yesterday it was ready after about 6 weeks because they ordered 98 more copies.
