Be sure to add this one to your home library! (& if you ever find bookcarts with rocket thrusters, please let us know).

Book promo post. A textured orange-hued background with a book cover overlaid it. The book cover is for Starship Librarians and features a humanoid librarian in a retro-coloured spacesuit of oranges, creams, and teal, shelves books. They are framed by a window looking out onto space. Behind them is a bookcart with thrusters instead of wheels. Additional text says Now Available.

Soothsayer for the 21st Century
by Aggie Novak

You come to me—
(fabric draped, costume jewelled, incense clouded).
You ask me real questions, but you don’t seek real answers.
You want—
Comfort. Platitudes.
It’s not your fault, there was nothing you could do.
Tell me, you ask—
What the future holds. Where I will be in 20 years.
How successful. How loved. How normal.
I draw the cards—
The Star, reversed. All hope gutters out.
The Tower. Cities, fire in their bones.
The World, reversed. The circle breaks.
Well? Your eyes wide, full of—
Hope, I say.
New constellations. Collapse clears the way.
The world resets.

“The holy man was bringing healing water from the sacred mountain.” Claudio bends down to her height, hunching his broad shoulders to whisper to her. “Guess somebody killed him for it.” Read June's Speculative mystery by @scmillsbooks now!

Beware of harvesting your fields on a hot day. Lady Midday will emerge from whirling dust clouds in the form of an old hag, a lovely woman, or a young girl, carrying a scythe. If you can't answer her riddles, she'll kill you by beheading or heat stroke. #FolkyFriday

The first known use of singular “they” is so old that not only does it pre-date singular “you,” it wasn’t even spelled with a “th”

When William and the Werewolf, in 1375 CE, used singular “they,” it was spelled with a Thorn

Life is short. Write that novel. Paint that painting. Try new recipes. Learn black magic. Go into the forest at night. Summon a demon. Earn that demon's trust. Become best friends with it. Brag to everyone else about your new cool demon best friend. Knit that sweater.

This is still my advice: Become a writer anyway. Fuck it, do it, it won't save you, but it's still a beautiful dream to write novels and short stories and poems and mingle with other dreamers and make art and laugh in the face of death. And writing is constant death. Live más.

Many commentators say that vigilante groups are never the answer. But they clearly don't know about the masked Ecuadorian trio named “Acción Ortográfica Quito,” who roam the streets at night with a singular purpose: to correct all the spelling and grammar mistakes they find in graffiti.
An example of Acción Ortográfica Quito doing the Lord's work (graffiti on a wall corrected with red spray paint)
