If it's really an invasion (and it is) then maybe we need to do something beyond just calling it what it is. Close the borders? Deploy Illinois Guard to protect us? Some kind of economic sanctions against Texas or the US?

if you ask the average American to describe what they think a tougher immigration system should look like, they will describe something a degree of magnitude softer and more generous than the current reality.

This framing is absolutely wild considering that they’re spending their days splitting up families. Do they think nazi gestapo or secret police were not fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters? Regular people can commit heinous acts and do all the time!
