NIH is the biggest funder of biomedical research in the States. No reviews= no grants, no grants= no research.
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.

Most aphids give live birth to clones that are already pregnant to more clones!! And the flying companions? Different phenotypes of the same clones!

So I just learned on TPWKY that it takes on average 15-20 min of skin to skin contact to spread scabies. How did I contract this as a depressed 18 year old university who hadn't even been kissed? HOW? It will always be a mystery.

I know I need to stop working night shifts and eventually transition out of shift work at the hospital altogether as my health is deteriorating, but I still feel so guilty about it! There is this such a toxic culture in nursing that normalizes pushing our bodies to breaking points.

I saw micropreemies for the first time recently! Tid bits that I learned:
1) They start feeding via ng tube as early as possible in such small amounts! Like 0.5ml/hr.
2) Breathing may be supported with high flow oscillatory ventilation. These run at 300+ resps per minute.
