To all the young people in New York and across our country who count on gender-affirming care:

I won't let this administration come for you, your doctors, or your lifesaving health care.

Your health care is still legal and protected.

I'll always fight for you.

Democrats, coming off a historic national protest against fascism and a country-wide electoral sweep:

This exactly.
i have to say, as a trans journalist who has covered the "trans debate" for about a decade now, there is no daylight between how the trump administration and conservatives lie about tylenol and autism and how they've lied about youth trans care.

What Becca said.
Dear Senator Murkowski,

You have power as a United States Senator whose party is in the majority. We each have power, but you do especially. Find your bravery and others will follow. I promise you. Our democracy depends on it.

Sincerely,
Becca

We were just denied entry into CECOT — the notorious prison in El Salvador where Mr. Abrego Garcia is being illegally held.

We were there for one simple reason: to check on his well-being, which his family and lawyers have not been allowed to do. We won’t stop fighting.

I love this idea. Off to get postcards...
Remember writing a letter “to any soldier“? Reposting something doesn’t do much. I look on Google maps for different federal agencies & mail them a postcard that says “to any public servant, you are appreciated. hold the line.” #HoldTheLine. #chaoticgood

Canceling my WaPo subscription today. Got rid of NYT a couple of years ago. I subscribed to Wired a few weeks ago. Any suggestions for other bad ass news sources to invest in right now?

another great example along with Wired and Teen Vogue of how real journalism these days can be a lot braver at outlets where no one is trying to get in good with the White House press secretary

they’re out here with us, reporting on what’s happening to us all, instead of trying to get inside access

Good advice! I would just add… provide shelter and safety for immigrants and trans people if you can.
Make your calls. Go to your town halls. Ask your state and local officials what they are doing under state and local law. Rest. Hydrate. Make soup for the hungry. Don’t let people tell you that you’re doing it wrong. Not a sprint. Not a marathon. A relay. Find your team. Thank you.

Idea going around: Democratic leadership could ASAP name an "alternate" HHS secretary--someone to provide public updates and health information. And "shadow" leaders for other depts too, with press conferences, policy initiatives, budgets, speeches.

Some higher ed organizations who are loudly circling the wagons against federal funding cuts were oddly silent or circumspect about the earlier attacks on CRT and DEI.

I wish there was a better understanding that these attacks are coming because we failed to repel those.
