ICYMI…the most gobsmacking fact from this reporting—>how much land will be needed to produce sustainable aviation fuel

“The maximum amount of land that we’ve converted to cropland in a single year (roughly 1.8 million acres), would have to be quadrupled every year for the next 30 years,” said Limb.
This summer, I was reporting on the recent honeybee collapse and a source in North Dakota shared their concerns that if sustainable aviation fuel takes off, it could make it even harder to raise honeybees.

Hitler alleged all sorts of things against the government and leadership of Czechoslovakia. I would advise the "Maduro's no angel" crowd to just stop. Whatever his personal sins and the government's failings, it just isn't the point.

Did u know? As summers get hotter & drier, gardeners can do a lot to mitigate the damage done to wildlife & soil by the sun. Create borders that have cheek-by-jowl planting. The ground-level green canopy you create will protect small souls from heat, stop the soil from drying out & look fab. 🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🐜🐸🦎🐀

US chicken is chlorinated because America has no animal welfare laws where poultry is concerned. It has to be chlorinated because Salmonella and e. coli run rife

The EU banned that practice in 1997 and as such the UK has among the highest welfare and standards in the world. 1/2

Mendel reminds us: progress in science depends not only on discovery, but on reception.

When gatekeeping and trends dominate, even solid, innovative work may never get a fair chance.

A dead, fallen tree in the rainforest explodes into a kaleidoscope of exquisite new life, colour, and beauty.

Just one example of what's lost when we 'tidy' deadwood away from a natural ecosystem.

Leave it rot down for nature. 🌍
