Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

His name was Alex Pretti. He was 37, an RN, & defending a woman from ICE assaults. And ICE executed him.

He's the 9th person ICE has murdered in 2026. I share the facts on the ground & 5 meaningful calls to action to organize effectively and resist with justice.

NEW: Minnesota BCA was denied access to the crime scene. They got a WARRANT and DHS STILL BLOCKED THEM. So DHS doesn’t need a warrant to enter your house, but an actual warrant to enter the crime scene is denied?

Prosecute ICE is where Dems should be at next.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

The ICE deaths we're not talking about

Trump's biggest concentration camp in Texas is rocked by 3 deaths in 33 days - one deemed 'homicide' after a violent encounter with guards. The ICE detention death rate is 10X (!!) Biden's final year

My new column on a crisis www.inquirer.com/opinion/deat...
People are dying in Trump’s squalid concentration camps | Will Bunch
People are dying in ICE detention facilities at nearly 10 times the rate of the Biden years. It will likely get worse.

This is not a serious operation to enforce immigration law. It’s a performative show of force and it’s gotten way out of hand.

One of the issues that has come up again and again in my reporting on misinformation and social media is the massive influence social media companies have on research in the field.

Last night a preprint dropped that tries to get at this with some numbers. My piece in @science.org (and 🧪🧵 coming):
Nearly a third of social media research has undisclosed ties to industry, preprint claims
Industry-linked studies were also more likely to focus on particular topics, suggesting these ties may be skewing the field
