Jim Gavin’s name will remain on the ballot for Friday 24th, merely with no campaign behind it.

This will bring heavy rainfall tomorrow with strong winds expected on Friday. A number of warnings will be issued today by Met Éireann, with updates as certainty increases.

What’s missing from a lot of the commentary on the failure of the hard right to get a candidate on the ticket was how utterly incompetent they were in preparing for an election we’ve known about for years.

Last minute effort stinks of laziness. They didn’t even have a candidate a few weeks back!

People have been able to get nominated in previous elections, those tended to have a record of doing something in the community or are known. So the process works.
It just doesn't work if you're an extremist or have no record of doing anything positive for the community. #aras25

I HATE AI prompts in word. How the fuck is it good to encourage people to outsource thinking about things that should be sweet & nourishing. "Write a funny poem to wish a happy birthday to my 5 year old sister" It's literally discouraging people from creative & meaningful & life-affirming stuff

If the only issue of "fairness in women's sports" you care about is whether trans women are allowed, but aren't fighting for pay parity, maternity policies, better abuse protections, increased funding, media coverage, etc, then you don't actually care about fairness in women's sports.
