Yes! And not only that!

In exactly 2 weeks' time, the Grand Auld Sthretch in the evenings in Dublin will commence, as this glorious event *always* precedes the December solstice by about 8 days!

WooHoo!
It's the first of December, which means in just three weeks' time, it'll be the Winter solstice, and the days will start to get longer once again.
Today is 2025-12-01, the sun sets at 16:10:01 and the grand auld stretch tonight was 04 mins and 18 secs. #GrandStretch #GrandDrawingIn

Today, I saw a driver overtake a stopped bus and plough through a pedestrian crossing. He beeped three times as he sped though. The beeping was to warn people because, as he had overtaken a bus, he had zero visibility of who was about to step out onto the crossing.

But sure, more hi-vis, everyone
👀 Can you see me now?

The importance of visibility on our roads cannot be understated, particularly for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter drivers and motorcyclists.

It rumbles on. Someone is now doing an official survey and they're going to geographically map the results. God I love nerds! 🤓

Not sure what’s worse: the “Quiet, piggy” itself, or the media’s tepid shrug at it. What a tawdry and disappointing time we live in. We deserve so much better than this.

He said that politicians need to "set an example", especially as they discuss a law potentially introducing tougher restrictions on the sale of alcohol in shops.

I can already hear in the very near future, very white HR employees saying, "well, we have every faith in the impartiality of our technology behind how we hire the very best people, who are the best fit for our company."
Researchers are now saying that AI can find correlations between facial characteristics and success on the job.

The Economist says that corporations would have a “strong incentive” to deploy this technology when looking at applicants.

“Helsinki hasn’t registered a single traffic-related fatality in the past year…Citing data that shows the risk of pedestrian fatality is cut in half by reducing a car’s speed from 40 to 30km/hr, city officials imposed the lower limit in most of Helsinki’s residential areas & city center in 2021.”
