Isn’t it odd that when a member of an immigrant ethnic group commits a crime, right-wing white guys want to deport the entire group, but when a right-wing white guy commits a crime, the other right-wing white guys don’t volunteer to deport themselves.

If you can fill out the face of a clock, remember three words over 5 minutes, tell the difference between a horse & a lion, & don't have a dementia diagnosis, you don't need to keep taking the cognitive exam. Doctors administer it regularly when they need a quick tool to gauge declines in cognition.

"Half the harm that is done in this world
is due to people who want to feel important.
They don't mean to do harm,
but the harm does not interest them.
Or they do not see it, or they justify it
because they are absorbed in the endless struggle
to think well of themselves."

Mamdani already winning!
I was wondering what Mamdani's first executive order would be, and I'm not disappointed by this.

He has wiped off the books EVERY Eric Adams executive order issued on or after September 26, 2024, the day Adams was indicted on federal bribery charges.

Stephen Miller's argument that the U.S. shouldn't take immigrants from "failed societies" overlooks the fact that the failure of other societies is what drives people to seek a better life here. It's what Miller's own ancestors did.

Americans have protested. We’ve boycotted. Many of us regularly write letters and make phone calls. When you ask “America”, how long? You really should be asking CONGRESS. They hold the power to end it all. We the people have spoken as their constituents. THEY are failing us.

If the Epstein files are a Democratic hoax, why do they need to be redacted? Asking for a skeptical nation.

Here a novel idea, let’s let the survivors redact the Epstein files.

Nothing about this quote about a “ballroom” suggests “peaceful transfer of power.”
Trump on the ballroom: "It's bigger than I told you. It's, you know -- after realizing we're gonna do the inauguration in that building, it's got all bulletproof glass, it's got all drone, they call it drone-free roof. It's dronessss -- won't touch it. It's a big beautiful safe building."

A small number of people whose extreme wealth exerts a political gravitational force that distorts the entire political system is bad, actually. It has been recognized as a threat to free liberal republican government since the first time it emerged in the Gilded Age.

Doesn't it strike you as strange that the people who shout long and loud that America is a Christian nation founded on Christian principles are the very people who don't want Christ's teachings of tolerance, pacifism, and generosity codified in law?

In a sane world, it would have happened already.
It’s hard to believe that one man can cause so much stress, so much fear, so much pain and suffering…a man who took an oath to preserve and protect our Constitution. This man, who is inciting terror across our land, must be removed from office. In a sane world, it would happen immediately.

In courts of law, this is known as consciousness of guilt.

Yes they will. And so will the moderate left. And the moderate right. And the independents. And everyone else who possesses a shred of sanity.
If this doesn't motivate you to vote in the Midterms, nothing will.

Found the actual men in women's bathrooms assaulting women.
ICE agents illegally break into a woman's bathroom in a NY nutrition bar manufacturing plant. "Pull up your pants," says a male agent. The agents only had a warrant to review employer documents. They didn't have a warrant to search for, detain, or arrest anyone there.

Also, every federal agent or employee who redacted the Epstein Files without coming forward is guilty of conspiracy to rape and traffic children. They are 100% complicit and should be charged accordingly. The entire Federal government is filled with child rapists.

For what it's worth, I remember.
not that the present economic picture is rosy, but i do think that popular culture — and specifically nostalgia bait television — is a big part of the reason that our public memory of the 1970s, 1980s and even 1990s seems to miss the real economic pain that marked each of those decades.
