Thanks, man. It's sad and frustrating and lonely, but also the timing really reaffirms and validates my choice to mask even when I don't think I'm sick.

There are people in my life who don't retain the most basic Covid info I share-- I read so many actual studies, I follow so many researchers and specialists. It hurts something deep inside me for someone I love to still not know in 2025 that covid is contagious for up to 10 days after symptom onset.

This being said, I don't have words to convey the grief I feel over what I have sacrificed for 6yrs to live by my values (I wear a KN95 or N95 mask everywhere-- half of cases are asymptomatic but contagious) and to still catch covid repeatedly myself because most people stopped paying attention.

We watched it in grade grade 12 in ~2004, and my otherwise truly clueless white self was so appalled by the level of racism that I remember asking the teacher "at what point are we allowed to say that no amount of film innovation is worth more people watching that"

It is VERY funny to introduce yourself as "gay" wife when you were brought up by *checks notes* your wife
