Emma Seligman (extremely cool shit, she's from almost a decade after me though), the director of Demolition Man (!!!), and the main fraud guy on Suits.

Our rival school down the street had Keanu Reeves as their claim to fame and our least beloved drama teacher had taught him.
Who's the most famous alum of your high school?

I'll go first: David Draiman of Disturbed

Aggressively avoiding all reporting/discussion of the awful tragedy in BC. The internet is deeply opportunistic and evil, and I already always want to clamber on top of my trans wife and hiss at people to protect her like I'm a cornered possum.

Please take care of yourselves on the internet, babies

Phenomenal thread
I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

Meanwhile, according to the misidentified innocent woman's mother, she's been "devastated" by the situation.

The woman is now afraid to go outside.

Well fucking done, everyone.

I posted on *three platforms* just over *20 minutes* after Radio-Canada first misidentified this innocent trans woman as a mass shooter on national television in a 6:00pmET broadcast.

I tagged Radio Canada and Patrice Roy.

They didn't issue a correction until after 2:00pmET today.

Unacceptable.
Radio-Canada apologizes after it aired a photo circulated by anti-trans hate groups online, falsely claiming it was a photo of the Tumbler Ridge shooter. Damaging and irresponsible, and this apology raises more questions about journalistic process imho.

La direction de l'information s'excuse de la publication d'une photo présentant à tort une personne comme étant responsable de la fusillade.

The intention of policies like this proposal is to introduce so much friction, so much pain, so much discomfort and humiliation, that a child desists rather than continue to assert their true identity.

It is nothing less than conversion therapy being written into school policy.
Anyone who had genuine concerns about youth gender medicine would staunchly and wholeheartedly support social transition. Let kids explore their identities to see what works for them!

The fact that this movement opposes even pronouns and haircuts shows that it's just bigotry all the way down.
This draft guidance reproduces Cass insisting that clinicians must be involved in decisions about *social transition* which actually should be none of their damn business

They take the line that this "non-directive" intervention should force things to be "keeping options open and flexible"...

Wearing masks and avoiding indoor crowds before a major globally broadcast competition are hardly 'extreme measures' when it protects an athlete's career from being sidelined by a virus

For most people, the pandemic days of masking are behind us. In certain corners of the Winter Olympics, though, things still look a lot like they did in Covid times. Some athletes are taking extreme measures to stay healthy. n.pr/4akK70l

The first field is called “Of the soldiers who stood in for their fathers”.

It’s ancient Excel, but I find that incredibly moving

When this generation of kids grows up, they will never forgive us for doing so little to protect them from the known permanent effects of this virus.

No one wanted to keep wearing an N95/KN95 or bother with air filtration, and all these kids will know we chose convenience over their safety.

The AICP is filled with charlatans and idiots. There is no need to investigate a vaccine that has proven its effectiveness in preventing HPV infections and has had numerous studies analyzing its impact on reducing cervical cancer in millions of vaccinated patients.
CIDRAP Op-Ed: The HPV vaccine prevents cancer. The new ACIP wants to re-examine that.

@jakescottMD

The vaccine has reduced cervical cancer by nearly 90% in women vaccinated as teens and has been studied in >70 randomized controlled trials

If a reward-based afterlife exists, it will consist of me duelling both Holydays.
Budget deliberations begin with Councillor Holyday, who has questions. He gets the TTC to confirm there's a $35 million reserve draw in their budget. Holyday then suggests this reserve draw wouldn't be necessary if TTC just increased fares and reversed policies like fare capping and kids-ride-free.
