Flashback to baby Shirley on his first night with me in July 2023. Thanks to his cantaloupe addiction, he has grown considerably.

Black kitten, Shirley, his eyes closed, curled up on top of a pillow next to my head as we try to sleep on his first night home.

Black cat, Shirley, no longer a kitten, observes me cutting up a cantaloupe from his perch on top of the kitchen cabinet. He knows he's not supposed to be up there. I brought him on to be my assistant. Now he's my boss.
