Enjoying Blue Sky, nice bunch here.
Friendly.
How are comedians supposed to add humour to the news when the news is already funnier than anything?
Trump Greenland Penguins
I've done My Week: Donald Trump (again) for tomorrow. My first draft genuinely had a joke about Trump thinking there were penguins in Greenland but I took it out because it seemed too stupid.

"Board of Peace"? No. Piece! As in Piece of the Action. Let's make me some money.

The deal will set up a new framework for the whole area around Greenland. It will be called the Arctic Resources Strategic Engagement. It will be led by the USA and Trump appointed to run it.
Yes, he will be the Chief ARSE.

Until recently there has been a debate in America over whether Trump should be impeached for being "the most openly corrupt President" and breaches of US law. Now there is no debate, of course he should be impeached. The new debate is whether he should also be sectioned.

Elbit get the elbow. This needs more main news coverage. The hunger strikers didn't give in, they won a victory.
🚨BREAKING: Prisoners END their 73-DAY hunger strike after huge WIN.

The government BLOCKED a £2bn contract to train British troops with the UK wing of Israel’s BIGGEST weapons company - a key demand for the activists.

The one most important thing that Christ preached was unconditional love. He didn't say pick some people you like and just love them. He said love everyone.

I don't think most Iranians want that. This is far more than a choice between a theocracy and a monarchy. That would be a false dichotomy. Iran deserves democracy.

Is this just geographical or is it a long term memory of the old Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of Northumbria, Mercia and Wessex?
@profaliceroberts.bsky.social
Where do the North and South of England begin?

Based on the answers of 46,000 English people about where they live, the southern border of “the North” is a line roughly from Shrewsbury to Grimsby, while the northern border of “the South” is a line roughly from the Severn to Great Yarmouth

Put uniformed, armed thugs into a City to harass its population. Get protests and civil disobedience in response. A pressure cooker.
What do you expect to happen?
Another step towards the civil war that Trump wants, so that he can declare martial law and cancel elections. i.e. this is intentional.
@eggerdc.bsky.social: "In broad daylight, on video, and in front of many witnesses, a masked ICE officer shot and killed an American citizen, a woman named Renee Good, behind the wheel of her car. Within minutes…Tricia McLaughlin was lying about her." www.thebulwark.com/p/a-killing-...
A Killing in Minneapolis. A Gaslighting From the White House.
Minutes after ICE shot her, the Trump administration had already declared Renee Nicole Good a ‘domestic terrorist.’

I used to respect the BBC.
There are still many many good people working there, but now led by cowards and worse.
Robin Ince - well said.

Sycophancy with the emphasis on sick.
And no doubt the following day the US Marines will be in Venezuela bringing "peace".

🔴The Good News in Rachel Reeves’ Budget

From lifting hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty, to taking on the media-backed gambling lobby, there was much to praise and far less to criticise in the Chancellor’s statement, argues @adambienkov.bsky.social

The BBC may not be "institutionally biased" but it is subject to censorship. Be aware. It is sometimes the news stories that are not covered that reveal this.
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Nathan Gill. UKIP / Brexit / Reform. Paid to support Russia.
Farage also said stuff in support of Russia and Putin, but absolutely no connection, nothing to see here, move along.

On the 80th anniversary of the Nuremberg trials.
"I was only obeying Donald's orders..."
Trump just outright calling for Democrats to be executed now. (His previous post references a news story in which Democratic veterans in Congress urged soldiers to refuse unlawful orders, as their oath is to uphold the constitution).

"Waterboarding" used to have a different meaning.
Seriously, democracy is challenged when commercial organisations can bully politicians with seeming impunity.
Thames Water tried to make MP pay its legal fees of up to £1,400 an hour, he asked the Court to put TW into special administration.

Blatant attempt to silence MPs.

TW paying £200m a year to advisers, charges customers for its failures.

Abuses will continue until execs held personally liable.

Disaster for Israel if they triumph in Palestine. The Ultra-Orthodox will finish their settlements in the West Bank, but then wonder why Israel is not better. The US Evangelicals will be disappointed that they are not "Rapturing". Both will blame LGBTs in Tel Aviv. Civil war results.
The Jewish right discovering in real time that the Trumpist right, and the open bigotries it has unleashed upon the US body politic, is not in fact going to spare Jews, is quite a trip.
