Congratulations Ballard-Fremont Greenways and thank you @seattledot.bsky.social for upcoming safety improvements on 8th Avenue NW. Lots of speed cushions and intersection daylighting.

The kids get a ski bus to Snoqualmie. Can grown-ups get one too?
You can’t get to Snoqualmie Pass without a car. But what if we had a train that went there, like in the Alps? We used to!

Here’s more about the Snoqualmie ski train, and how we can provide transit service to the pass so people don’t have to drive to enjoy winter.

I would pay a huge premium to take a bus to Snoqualmie and not have to worry about parking - or driving! Same with Stevens.

Ready to start seeing more trains on the I-90 floating bridge?

We’re starting pre-revenue operations on the 2 Line’s Crosslake Connection 🚊

Head to The Platform blog to find out what that means for passengers and for the region: www.soundtransit.org/blog/platfor...

Having driven from Denver to Boise this time of year, can confirm!
The winds in Colorado/Wyoming are insane.

This was very cool! Was a little disappointed they didn’t take off but I can understand the logistical problems with flying at the mercy of the wind in a dense urban environment with 1000s of people underneath you in the dark

What we need is an ST4 that helps finish the ST3 projects and adds others - like a north-south rail line along the I-405 corridor (but ideally not literally next to the freeway the whole way)

Hot take: Fremont Bridge should be closed to cars and open only for bikes and pedestrians. For cars it's mostly redundant with Aurora Bridge and we're never going to build a new bridge (with the required ability to open, especially) for non-cars. As a historic bridge it'll last a lot longer, too.

Good list. I’d also add pedestrianizing a bunch of Seattle streets for the World Cup. It might have to be quick with planters, with more permanent changes later.

Namely the areas around Occidental, along with 1st Ave, Ballard Ave, University Way, 4th and Pine, and 10th and Pike in Capitol Hill.
A batch of things Wilson can bring in her first year:

—paint bus only lanes
—end design review
—redesign Aurora & Rainier Ave
—take comp plan further
—pick a slew of new directors
— OPCD (planning)
— SDCI (permitting)
— SDOT (transportation)
Katie Wilson is leading in the Seattle mayor's race!

The good news is that Climate Pledge Arena has a bus-only lane to make it easy to take transit home from the show! The bad news is the car drivers don’t give a shit and make you wait an extra 24 minutes for your bus
