Except for some gender critical ráiméis from the countess person, this is quite a positive article on 10 years since the Irish Gender Recognition Act passed - most people, as one interviewee said, are ‘happy to let trans people get on with it’. #speirgorm www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Bari’s complaint was “there’s nothing new here” and while that’s untrue it’s also irrelevant

“we intentionally sent people to be tortured in a hellhole and bragged about it and The Hague is too good for everyone involved” is a story that simply cannot be told enough

The thing about "health at every size" that I really like is that it's more about decoupling weight from aesthetics and moral judgments about character, behavior, etc, and concentrating on: does your body do the things you want it to be able to do and not do the things you don't want it to do?

People passing around the 60 Minutes CECOT piece like teenage boys from the 1980s passing around their dad's Playboy issues, and YouTube cannot take down ripped copies fast enough.

Here's one that's interesting: a video of the video.

60 minutes CECOT segment. Recorded through my browser. HD quality. Not phone. Spread it around. If you're press, it's yours. Go nuts.

It's streaming on a Canadian website, but there is no telling for how long.

What a lovely tiny story (short thread).
The emperor was sitting in his bed when the assassin came in through the window.

"Welcome, old friend."

"Wait," the assassin wheezed.

The emperor waited for him to catch his breath.

"I'm too old for this," the assassin said at last.

This is a really interesting thread - not too long, so it's worth clicking through to read.
Ok so
The headline is a bit misleading. AI shows racist bias in that psychiatric model (not surprising)
The slides issue is more complex--the AI detects markers that are correlated with race and then can't diagnose because it's been trained on too many white ppl (1/?)

FB finally managed to drive me away - by inflicting disgusting AI generated images of body horror on me in the "stories" bar about 80% of times I log in.

I can't turn off the bar. It's pointless to mute one story when another just replaces it. But I can - finally - decide to stop logging in.

No document will protect you. All they have to do is take it from you and "lose" it; take it from you and say you never gave it to them; claim it's fake ⬇️; make a new rule that you need ANOTHER document. Citizenship is a made-up status that governments decide the rules for. No one is free until all.

Yet, ICE claims her documents are “not authentic” and has held her in immigration detention for days.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

This Prime Day, celebrate by buying trans books from somewhere other than Amazon.
I know a lot of people are boycotting Amazon, which is great, but it's hurting a lot of trans authors.

Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts.

Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.
