Some truly amazing news: I've been appointed full Professor of Energy & Climate Policy at @ox.ac.uk.

Honestly have to pinch myself. It's been a non-traditional path to academia, and it feels like things have come full circle from starting an enviro group as a kid in the late 1980s.

Sicily is so hot that the region has just issued an ordinance to suspend various types of agricultural and construction activities on hot days to avoid accidents at work. Essentially these activities will be off at 12:30-16:00pm until 31/8.

Today Zurich 🇨🇭 celebrates the opening of the city tunnel - entirely dedicated to cyclists. Once planned as a motorway through the city centre, the plans have changed for the better, giving way to active mobility (and lots more bike parking at the main station).
