Green Party Co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick said the government was guaranteeing added costs to New Zealanders, while relying on "hopes, wishes, and prayers" for future savings.

"Profits are flowing offshore, while New Zealanders are paying handsomely for it."
Hipkins dismissed questions over whether Labour would terminate any agreements, or put the costs onto the energy companies and take away the levy on households, as "hypothetical"

Chippy its a fucking ELECTION YEAR, you are supposed to take a stand on policies

Nothing winds me up more than Luxon and assorted other suits saying we need to be wealthier before we can afford doctors, nurses, water we can swim in etc. Meanwhile wealthier kiwi households have stacked up huge piles of savings (cash, shares, equity etc). The economy works for the few. [🧵 1/n]

“ACT "weaponised" astroturfs. #nzpol #TaxpayersUnion

"So when the TPU were saying 'This is a problem', it was actually a contrived problem that the ACT Party told them to create.”

What problems will they be inventing for ACT to ‘solve’ for the 2026 NZ election?

Political pundits and media experts are warning that artificial grassroots organisations - nicknamed "astroturfs" - are being used to manipulate and mobilise public opinion for political gain.

Youth unemployment rate is now over 16% (1 in 6). The underutilisation rate - young people wanting work or more work - is 38% ffs - 190,000 young kiwis. That's nearly half of the total. It took a fking decade for youth unemployment to recover last time. Same plan this time. No plan.

Reupping this because of today’s #nzpol media.

The only change I’d make is to delete “economic”. *Anything* the Greens say is automatically taken as the extreme position.

(And despite what the finance minister says, it was exactly the same with James Shaw as leader)
#nzpol new reckon: any economic proposal by the Greens is definitionally taken by the commentariat as the far left boundary of the Overton window. It follows that no Green policy suggestion is ever worth evaluating as it is automatically extreme.

(There is no Overton boundary on the right.)
