A widower dad with two kids and a big cheesy ass nerd.
Donkey Kong Bananza is feeling like a Banjo Kazooie/Rare game and I’m all here for it.

My daughter prepared for her trip by double stacking backpacks.

So I finally beat Terraria + Capamity on Expert.

Now I can do it again with Revengeance mode on.

I'm going to be a goofy, pedantic asshole and point out that Nintendo had to drop the price $50 and include a whole host of GBA games to people who bought in the launch window because of how ass the library was that first year.

Still one of my favorite handhelds, period. I miss mine.
LOL, my dude

Welcome to fucking 2011 and it ACTUALLY had games

I’m going to pay the cat tax now.

Coraline (the ginger cat) and Lucy Goose.

Bonus picture of my girlfriend’s dog, Jade.

I don’t know if this is a hot take or not, but Star Fox adventures was amazing.

Not as great as, say, SF64, but I had a lot of fun with it as a kid.

You know…my switch looking lonely.

I might get Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Unless my daughter requests I’d play Hello Kitty Island Adventure with her. Then, as a father, I’d be obligated to play it with her.

I introduced my girlfriend to terraria.

She tries really hard to organize the chests and keep things neat.

Meanwhile, I just warp in and press “quick deposit to chest” and ruin her entire flow lol.

I’m blown away by how ahead of its time Super Metroid was back in 1994.
It was committed to environmental storytelling, atmosphere, and unconventional design approaches meant to surprise the player in a way that I think hasn’t been fully explored in the industry until the boom of indie titles.

I agree with this list. With the addition that 14 can be played solo for most of it and FF16 has massive fuck off Kaiju fights.
If you’ve never played a Final Fantasy game, but have any interest in the series, any of these six would be a great starting point:

14 - Story heavy MMO
10 - The bridge between classic and modern
4 OR 6 - The best classics
7 Remake - Modern, perfected
Tactics - Story heavy strategy

Publisher bizdev people at events like GDC and Dice trying to sign "the next balatro" should realize that, statistically, the developer of "the next Balatro" you need to be talking to isn't at GDC or Dice talking to bizdev guys seeking 2m+ in funding

It’s fun starting a new hobby with ADHD because I never know if I’ve found a new lifelong passion or if I’m going to spend $2000 on stuff and immediately lose all interest
