Just watched Miklós Jancsó's SILENCE AND CRY (1968) and a more simultaneously beautiful and inscrutable film I have not seen in a while. ('Who is THIS?' 'Why is she doing THAT?' 'Hang on, why is he going back THERE after all the trouble of getting away?' 'What side is this bastard ON, anyway?')
