Among the 381 books that the Naval Academy removed was one that my mom, a retired professor, authored. The Trump administration banned her book, and no one could tell us why.

So we wrote about it for @msnbc.com. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...
Opinion | Trump admin's book purge at the Naval Academy goes beyond petty authoritarianism
One of us wrote an academic book on gender. The Defense Department thinks it's too dangerous for the Naval Academy to have in its library.

More than two years ago, Utah Republicans commissioned a study on gender-affirming care for youth. It just came back, and the conclusion is unambiguous: full recommendation in support of gender-affirming care.

Utah study on trans youth care extremely inconvenient for politicians who ordered it
The state's ban on gender-affirming pediatric care "cannot be justified" by science, a two-year review concluded.

This is phenomenal.

Sea surface temperatures are >5C above average to the west of the UK and around Iceland. It's the strongest area of anomalous warmth on the planet at the moment.

It's the warmest in recorded history for northwest Europe.

Today marks five years since George Floyd was killed by police. Our June 22, 2020 cover “Say Their Names,” by Kadir Nelson, illustrated how Floyd’s murder embodies the history of violence inflicted upon Black people in America. nyer.cm/UmfefJw

Yes, it does.
Legacy media is telling us that what we see happening isn't really happening.

So I definitely think this is true. But I also think we should pay politicians better.

First of all, that means people who don't come from money have a better shot.

But also, I think powerful people will find a way to make money. I'd rather they make it directly from the people.
Thou shalt ban politicians from trading stocks, for they inevitably do insider trading.

It’s impossible to trust leaders that are abusing the system to get rich.

Today in court a litigant in a case before mine broke down crying because they'd spent $67,000 on attorneys and the case still wasn't over, they were denied appointed counsel, and had to represent themselves, and as much as we talk about universal healthcare we also need universal right to counsel.

Um. The president can’t pardon state cases. Also, no.

That's one down. 25 more to go.
Incredible news! Montana’s Supreme Court just affirmed that the state’s gender affirming care ban is likely unconstitutional.

This makes the state the first state Supreme Court to rule that trans medical care is protected.

This applies REGARDLESS of what the US Supreme Court does.
