The point of the Clacton house was to enable Farage to say he lived in his constituency. Why on earth would his lady friend (who is French) buy a house in Clacton for herself? It’s absurd. The house was obviously for Farage. He’s made quite a big error here.
Last November Mr Farage said he had "just exchanged contracts on a house that I'll be living in there".
Now Farage says he has no financial stake in Clacton home..

I love Ian Hislop but it’s worth noting that most of us would balk at the prospect of publicly admonishing a wrongdoer whose conduct you condemn in this way. I did it once to the UKIP/Reform/Brexit twerp Richard Tice but that took exactly zero guts.
