Political violence is always immoral and always counterproductive for a healthy democracy. It solves nothing. It only leads to further violence and ultimately enables scapegoating of vulnerable communities. Committing acts of violence against those who disagree with us helps no one.

One of the functions Fox News serves is to field-test batshit insane right-wing ideas to see what might catch on. They throw out a dozen of these things a day, then if the audience responds and other conservatives start repeating it, they'll do a hundred segments on it and push it on to the agenda.
