How important is it to shift electricity demand from early evening to around midday?
In NSW, electricity consumers paid over $1 billion MORE in June for electricity used between 5PM and 9PM than they did in May.
The total used was about the same. Only the cost was 5 times MORE.

A Federal Court judge is intent on obstructing legal action against the Commissioner of Taxation.
In previous litigation:

This is the case for a majority of people in New Zealand due to the response in 2020 and 2021 which could explain why our excess mortality continue to be lower than other countries. Lockdown gets proven to be the right decision (at the time).

And for mean temperatures, last month was a near-equal second hottest October. Last month’s anomaly was 2.51C above the 1961-90, and the previous October in 2024 had a 2.52C anomaly. Both lagged 2015’s October anomaly of just over 3C:

The Colorado River Basin has lost nearly the equivalent of an underground Lake Mead 💧🌎⚠️

📰 A recent study finds the basin lost about 27.8 million acre-feet ❗ of groundwater from 2002-2024. About 68% of the losses occurred in the lower part of the basin, which lies mostly in Arizona 🧪

I really hoped that the negative effects of lead exposure, socially, are mostly behind us... but it looks like Gen X is actually hit hard by the side-effects of lead exposure, and it's not going their neurology any favors. 🧪
