this is the true end point of tech's pivot to "AI": taking code a machine almost entirely plagiarized from a human's existing implementation and going "I claim no ownership—the machine wrote this"
One of the many joys of using AI for programming is the creation of huge PRs on complex topics that the authors barely understand, but still suggest "because they work". Here's a great example from #OCaml github.com/ocaml/ocaml/...

Kudos to OCaml's maintainers for handling this so gracefully.

I’ve seen a lot of people say recently that narrative games can’t actually make player choices meaningfully matter because of exponential scaling issues.

To that I say, the first episode of Scarlet Hollow is free.

And if you remain a disbeliever, you can buy the rest of the game and keep playing.

I'd appreciate if you gave it a like on YT and maybe reskeeted this to offset the traction I lost from the old one.

AH!

Dishwashers exist primarily to make living with traditional dinner ware easier. It's the anti-single-use-item machine.

The pods are like "but what if we force some single-use items into your routine?"

I think that's why I hate them so much.

Alberta's government invoked the Notwithstanding Clause this week to force teachers back to work and reportedly plans to use it again against trans kids in the coming days.

This seems outrageously cruel.

And just a handful of months before these folks would have been set to enjoy the release of one of the biggest games of their careers too.

The imbalance of power in the games industry remains utterly fucked.
BREAKING: Yesterday Grand Theft Auto VI maker Rockstar Games fired dozens of people, all of whom were involved in union efforts. A British union calls it "blatant and ruthless" union-busting. Take-Two Interactive says it was due to misconduct.

Here's the scoop: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Bill 2 is a serious abuse of power by the Alberta Government and must not stand.

We invite all Albertans to sign up, send a letter to the Premier, and join the fight to stop this abuse of power: savethecharter.ca

Calling out not only the preemptive use of the notwithstanding clause but also the limited debate as threats to the rule of law.

okay so you know how the media has a problem with taking snippets of scientific studies out of context and writing articles which mislead the public?

now imagine a computer program is doing that when you ask it questions about scientific literature but also it makes stuff up.

I understand why "renewable energy is expensive" is lodged in so many brains.

It is expensive *to set up*

The trouble lies in stopping there. Help more people get to the important bit which is that it is NOT expensive to operate. That makes investment in those technologies cheaper in the long run.
