I didn't have a great weekend but last night I got a comment on a fic: it was two hearts.
It helped turn around my whole weekend.
So please, if you get nervous about leaving comments on fics, not sure what to say, just leaving two hearts is perfectly fine. In fact, it's incredible!

I deeply appreciate it when writers include trigger warnings in their books. I don't, however, appreciate the people who make a big fuss over their existence. If you don't like them, just skip them. Just because you don't need trigger warnings doesn't mean other readers don't!

This is not just bots. We are seeing more and more submissions by writers with publication records who are almost certainly using AI to create initial drafts and then are trying and failing to edit things into shape.
Please SHARE! Writers! We want to apologize that we are still processing the recent short story submissions. Uncanny Magazine was hit with a massive volume of submissions due to AI subs. We hope to get through the pile over the next two weeks. Thank you for your patience.
