1-866-952-4456 to tell Netflix that in no way do you want Elon fucking Musk determining what you watch.

I just called, got through in about 15 seconds, and told them that I strongly support queer inclusion in their programming and that I will cancel my subscription if they cave.

1. Led by Elon Musk, the far-right has exploded in a campaign to get Netflix to remove shows with queer and trans characters.

If Netflix capitulates to their demands, an already strained market for LGBTQ+ animators might become even more dire.

That's part of why I wrote this. It's important to understand that MAGA is not "real" America.

On the contrary, the reason they're all so fucking bitter is they know most people aren't like them. And they resent that.

MAGA can't expand its base — and Christian music tells us why
The songs from Charlie Kirk's memorial exposed a serious problem

I did not know this! JSTOR is a fantastic resource, I used it all the time in college and it's great to have access to it again.

It's time to do that thing you've been wanting to do
Hey, it looks like you're waiting for ideal conditions to do that thing you've been wanting to do. Need I remind you that ideal conditions do not exist and will never happen?
• I'm aware
• Wow, rude

This took me years of being a published writer to understand:

To the people who only know you by your work, you are like the blank screen at the front of a movie theater. You have your own physical reality, but they only see what's projected. They are talking and reacting to the light and shadow.

this is something you just have to live with if you are even barely well-known online; people make up elaborate stories about you in their heads. it will always happen and you cannot give a shit about it, only stomp on it if they try to spread these weird tales to anybody you actually know.

its so strange to be a public figure. people build such elaborate mythologies around you. and im not even like, famous famous

I read the transcript of Ezra Klein talking to Ben Shapiro, because I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what they were trying to accomplish. I read rather than listened because I can’t stand the sound of BS’s pinched little voice. 🧵

The other #watercolor piece from my @janetpulcho.bsky.social workshop: gourds. These were very fun to paint. #ArtYear
Three ornamental gourds, leaning against each other. On the left, a large, smooth deep orange gourd; in the middle, a miniature pumpkin in light yellow with bright orange creases; on the right, a "Turk's turban" gourd, orange oval on top, and a small green-striped "foot" underneath. Schminke and Daniel Smith watercolors on Arches Cold Pressed paper.

The murder of Charlie Kirk was criminal, wrong, and should be condemned.

And Charlie Kirk was a horrible, hateful man who spent his life radicalizing young people to embrace their worst demons by targeting women, people of color, immigrants, and the marginalized.

I refuse to sanitize him.

This is so bizarre because no one who loves film will see this, and anyone who would see an AI generated film would never watch The Magnificent Ambersons - but like I guess so much of AI art, the audience is somehow not the point

Denis Johnson - Three Rules to Write By:

Write naked. That means to write what you would never say.

Write in blood. As if ink is so precious you can’t waste it.

Write in exile, as if you are never going to get home again, and you have to call back every detail.
